TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE

During the development of various CEPCO programs, projects, and ventures, we faced several problems, including the lack of knowledge about various activities, the lack of skills and abilities (in fact, we did a lot of things on the basis of trial and error ).

These problems forced us to continue the systematic development of experiences and skills that we acquired in all areas, in order to be able to transmit it to all our members. We have found it necessary to provide training to members at the same time that we were developing a structure for technical assistance and training in several areas (women, collection and marketing, organic coffee, financing).

Currently, all of CEPCO's activities and enterprises have professionals and technicians with ample experience in their areas; there are also teams of community-based technicians and peasant inspectors involved in the women's program and the organic coffee program, and a team of agronomists involved in all the activities related to the production and certification of organic coffee. Technicians/peasants inspectors are appointed and nominated by women's groups and groups producing organic coffee and are trained through a program consisting of core courses and ongoing workshops.
